Downunder Bar KL

Downunder Bar KL – A True Taste of Australia & New Zealand in the Heart of Kuala Lumpur

If you're looking for the closest thing to an authentic Australian and New Zealand sports bar in Kuala Lumpur, look no further than Downunder Bar KL.

We dropped in to catch the NRL and AFL, and from the moment we walked through the door, the atmosphere was exactly what you'd hope for. The place was buzzing with passionate fans, plenty of friendly banter, and the kind of camaraderie that makes watching live sport so much fun. Whether you're cheering for your team or having a laugh with the table next to you, it genuinely feels like you're back at your local pub in Australia or New Zealand.

The beer was served ice cold, the food exceeded expectations, and every dish felt like proper comfort food rather than a token attempt at Aussie pub classics. It's clear there's real pride behind the menu.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was spending time chatting with the owner, whose passion for creating a genuine Aussie and Kiwi experience shines through in every part of the venue. That authenticity carries over to the staff, the regular patrons, and the overall vibe. It's not something you can manufacture - it simply feels like home.

Whether you're an expat missing a taste of home, a sports fan looking for the best place to catch the big game, or simply someone after great food, cold beers, and outstanding hospitality, Downunder Bar KL delivers on every front.

The Scene Verdict: This is more than just a sports bar—it's a community. Authentic, welcoming, and packed with character, it's easily one of the best places in Kuala Lumpur to watch live sport and, in our opinion, the city's best and only Australian and New Zealand pub experience. We'll definitely be back. 🍻
